New ELA Series - Wonders
Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, McKinley School will utilize a new English Language Arts series titled Wonders. This new reading series replaces the Open Court reading series that had been the District's adopted series for 15 years. Wonders was adopted by LBUSD this past Spring because the Units address and align directly to the Common Core State Standards for California. Teachers and Administrators will attend professional development sessions during the summer to become oriented with the materials and various components to Wonders. Teachers are excited to receive their materials and get started using Wonders to guide their daily ELA instruction.
